Dragonfly Dreamer remembered this feeling from many years ago when she first awakened to her true spirit nature.  In that teaching, the further down the dimensional ladder she traveled, like falling down a well, the denser the reality and the more difficult it was to move around.  This, she remembered, is what it feels like to be ‘landlocked’ in a flesh and bone body.  Dragonfly Dreamer now made it only a few steps from her bed and then was overcome with extreme tiredness and the sense of how difficult and challenging embodiment is; why do I do this, she wondered, why???  She slowly returned to her bed and immediately the magic carpet swept her away….

Dragonfly Dreamer awoke again with the memory of her earlier experience still vivid and experimented with moving her limbs.  Much to her relief,  she found they moved easily.  Swinging her legs over the edge of her bed, she made her way back to her topside world.   Dragonfly Dreamer realized she was experiencing an opening  in the space/time continuum.  Earlier this day she’d had synchronistic meetings and manifestations and what she could only explain as mysterious time/space abnormalities.  Now Dragonfly Dreamer was again experiencing a sensation and awareness of expanded space and time.  She was acutely aware of the illusion of linear time, that all time and possibilities exist now and can be ‘re-membered’ again.  The message she’d received recently during another expansive experience came back to her now.  “I am dreaming and am in control of the dream”.  She’d taken that to heart and created a good one that day.  Now she felt grateful and remembered that it was the beauty and richness of this physical universe that brought her back again and again and again….

Dragonfly Dreamer thought about the message that had come a few days before about new energy coming into the body, hearing it was like a new octave on a musical scale that was grounded into the root chakra with a crystal.   This energy needs to be grounded into the physical dimension by engaging consciously in the activities and things we love and that nurture our body and spirit.   It had got dark outside since she’d awoken, so determinedly, she set about turning on the lights,  feeding herself, and thanking her cat friends with some treats.  She washed the dishes and then oiled those squeaky cupboard hinges…

As they gaze into the circular portal of dark space framed by the now receding clouds, Dragonfly Dreamer says  ‘We are coming into alignment with the universe, everything is lining up.  Soon we will find ourselves catapulted out into the cosmos.   We may not be aware of this happening, but it is inevitable and the next step for all life on Earth.  Sensing the anxiety of her friend as she wonders if this will be painful, Dragonfly Dreamer says, “There is no need to worry.  Everything will be okay. ”

As they stand there, what look likes a clear crystal fist-sized rock falls from the sky a short distance away.  There is no sound of rock hitting earth; everything is silent in the surreal dim light.  Then another clear rock falls, this one appears a little bigger.  Even though her instinct is to move inside away from the falling stones, Dragonfly Dreamer knows everything is okay and she and her companion are safe.

Dragonfly Dreamer explains, “we have these ideas about falling,  like ‘the sky is falling’ story, ‘falling in love’ and ‘falling down” can be risky and hurt, or even, heaven forbid, ‘falling apart’.   Don’t you see that when ‘a part falls’, it is coming towards something else?  One thing is being pulled or attracted to another, like a person, or a new interest or even the ground, leaving and moving away from the other.   It might even be your car hitting the car in front of you if you’re not paying attention!   “Gravity’s law, strong as an ocean’s current, takes hold of the smallest thing and pulls it towards the Heart of the World”, says Rilke.  This moving apart and coming together can indeed feel painful, especially when you resist the experience.  Try free falling and see where you end up!

Have you ever awoken with the sensation of a  sudden thud or jolt?  That’s the feeling of your astral body coming back into your physical form after a journey out of body.   While in physical form you experience feeling ‘a-part’, and this too can feel lonely and painful, but only until you ‘wake up’ and remember your connection with all of Life.

There is no such thing as real “apartness” in the cosmos.  Humans and even all matter are  connected, though we experience the  moving from one place to another or one person or job to another because matter and minds conspire to create that reality.   We are now at the point of remembering en masse that the more things move or ‘fall a-part’ in the material world, the more we  see and feel our real connection to everything.  And whether your experience is of the parting (such sweet sorrow) or the coming together (sweet union), both serve to teach you about connection.  And its your heart that connects you to everything.

Dying is one of those portal experiences, moving from one reality to another, but not one you need to be afraid of or try to avoid (as if we could!).  Rilke says “like children, we begin again to learn from the things because they are in God’s heart, and have never left Him.  That is what the things can teach us, to fall, patiently to trust our heaviness.  Even a bird has to do that before he can fly.”  We have to ‘come home’ to our humanness before we can leave it.

So practice falling, open your heart and listen to its deepest whisper, Dragonfly Dreamer suggests.   Lie on the Earth and look into the Sky while doing it.

From start to finish, the Sacred Earth Journey to Gros Morne National Park was a magical and mythical one.  Our group carried the medicine lineages of the Four Directions – North and South, East and West, and in the number 21, the energies of completion and new beginnings.   An auspicious number indeed given the timing of our Journey at Fall Equinox and the fast approaching end of the Mayan Calendar with it’s 20 archetypal energies of creation.

Our journey at the mythic level was about the balance of polarities, of Masculine and Feminine, Dark and Light, Earth and Sky.  In the old Earth these apparent differences can separate and divide us.  In the new Earth these are celebrated and honored as harmonious; what is known in Inca shamanism as the concept of yanantin or complimentary opposites.

We were cleansed by the pure waters at Western  Brook Pond, welcomed by the ancestors at Port aux Choix, embraced by the deep feminine Earth at the Tablelands,  and carried by Eagles and Condor to touch the sky at the top of Gros Morne Mountain.  Our bodies and spirits were fed by the land and people of beautiful Bonne Bay as we sang, danced and breathed our gratitude and love for each other and for all of creation over 10 magical days.  Healing, harmony and abundance were the order of the day.

Blame it on the Celtic legacy, the luck of the Irish, or whatever you like, but last year’s (2010) Sacred Earth Tour was full of surprises, synchronicity; and cause for wonder – reunions, kitchen parties, whales, moose and rabbit holes, and the like.  And it was definitely enhanced by the almost last-minute presence of Anneliese, our self appointed Tour Director.

Without any apparent help from the faeries, she brought an unexpected passion for partridgeberries and a flair for making things happen, especially in the kitchen.

The weather was amazing; not one rainy day, and many blue skies, which is unusual in Newfoundland, believe me.  The forecast called for rain our first day trip to Western Brook Pond; but we saw ne’er a drop, as the fisherman say; cruising the fjords we were blessed with beautiful blue skies.

The second day our dinner was interrupted by a surreal vivid sunset; everyone in the restaurant got up from their meal to gaze and take pictures.  The locals said they’d never seen such colors.  We took it as acknowledgement by the Elementals of our prayer ceremonies.

Another day we were running behind schedule, some over-zealous planning on my part meant we were hard pressed for time to eat lunch.  So we had an unscheduled stop at the Chocolate Moose Café where the solitary cook/waitress good-naturedly let us take over and serve ourselves!

Oh yes, and I did fall asleep on the bog and went ‘missing’ for an hour or more.  Not to mention the serendipitous meetings with locals, (some of which were the four-legged kind with antlers), many instances of Newfoundland hospitality, including musical offerings, whales ‘showing up’ for fire ceremony on the beach, as well as my childhood babysitter – but that’s another story!   Things that could only happen in Newfoundland, or wherever Anneliese is…

A Breath of Fresh Air

Newfoundlanders sure know how to have fun in the snow, as I discovered (again) this past week in the St. John’s area.   It was good to be back home, amongst my tribe.  I arrived midst an unexpected blizzard.   We began that first night with a gathering to talk about the Mayan Calender.

As we are about to enter the Ninth and final cycle of the cosmic plan for humanity, this made a great starting point for the ceremonies that followed.

We held a Despacho Ceremony for connection and healing of the Ancestors and Spirits of the Land.  A joyful affair that, of course, ended with drumming and dancing and a blazing fire!    

Prayer Bundle

After everyone got dug out from an overnight snowfall, we began an Advanced Munay-Ki workshop for those ready to move on to the next level of tranmitting Rites.  That very full day ended with a lot of excitement about the coming weekend.     

Elke and her Dandelion Center in Pouch Cove catered wonderfully to our Munay-Ki Initiation Retreat.   The first evening found us bundled up at a  fire ceremony.  We were perched high above the ocean as the winds blew and the waves crashed on the beach below.   Awesome!

Heartwarming soups, song and dance, laughter – rich hospitable delights throughout our St. John’s gatherings.   We connected with new and old friends, deepened our relationships with soul family and the Spirits of this ancient and powerful New-founde-land.  We got to try out Elke’s new sauna in candlelight on the edge of the ocean.  Drumming, rattling and Regina’s beautiful singing bowls rounded out the feast.  Made a visit to Ches’s Famous Fish and Chips - there was food aplenty and to spare this week in Newfoundland this week – for body, mind and soul.

Yes, I’m writing from “the Rock” where 13 of us have gathered for a workshop retreat in the midst of spectacular Gros Morne National Park.  It’s been a time of connection, ceremony and celebration, and we’ve still got two days to go!  Moose are on the road here in Norris Point, and the Orbs are showing up in our photos (can you find them here?).  We’ve been serenaded by Gayle, a local musician, and tonight had a fire ceremony on Wild Cove Beach.

Did you know that Newfoundland has the only l/2 hour time zone in North America?  One local songwriter says …When God designed creation, and drew up His master plan, He spent half an hour more creating Newfoundland!

Newfoundland is unique in many other ways, but it’s the landscapes – the rugged mountains, ocean and bays – and its people, warm, hospitable, with a great sense of humor and compassion- that draws, and keeps, many here, and that pulls me here.

Fire Ceremony Orb

In case you haven’t noticed there has been increasing waves of intensity as we  approach the Ninth and final cycle of human evolution.   The past week in particular sw a great wave of light infusing our Earth through a record size solar flare.  (See www.spaceweather.com).  The cosmic plan of creation is accelerating; we are in the midst of  a quantum leap into a brand new  world.   Change always evokes fear, and this is one of the biggest events happening in the cosmos.   The end of time according to the Mayan Calendar, and the end of many great cycles as measured by all great civilizations on Earth.

Solar Eclipse

Today at a new moon, a time of new beginnings, with a solar eclipse and a World Cup final game about to begin, I am reflecting on the new opportunities that are in front of  me.  Starting with the New Year Eve’s Full Moon Eclipse; the last six months have been a time of unbelievable change.  I have been challenged to release all that is unhealed,  that is in pain, suffering and not supporting my life and soul’s purpose, and to allow blessings and joy and the sweetest love to flow into its place.  And if that’s true for me, its true for everyone.

Indeed we see it unmistakably in the changes upon the Earth.   The disasters and devastation we are experiencing is opening us to the truth and duality of our lived experience, and inviting us to move into a new space of unity.  In life as we know it there is so much  love and at the same time, so much sorrow.   Our eyes and ears are being opened to the pain we inflict upon ourselves and our Earth home – on the oceans, forests, air and lifeforms; all the elements and creatures we depend on for our very existence.  It causes us to question how we are living here, together.

The challenges we face as a planet are very clear; the road through may seem less so.  We need to remember that we have all the answers, all the tools we need to make it; we have come so far, we have learned so much.   We have the support and wisdom of our Ancestors; we are not alone.  And the cosmos is unfolding as it should.  All we need do is hold hands and walk together into this new Earth, to own our magnificence, to own our power and ability to dream a new world into being.

The alignments in our solar system, the increasing synchronization in our cosmos is, as the Mayans told us, leading us to a New World Age.  The end of time as we know it; the end of the world as we have known it.  And this is as it should be; as we planned it eons ago.  There are no accidents, no mistakes, only reality as we have created it in order to bring us to this place; a planned universal awakening as we approach the ninth and final stage in human evolution.  We are experiencing a birthing of light within us, manifesting as our truth and our desire to create a different reality that supports all of life.

And today’s new moon solar eclipse brings waves of new energy, so much love and so much joy.  All this comes to a world that is fraught with troubles and fear; limited ways of believing and being in connection with our Earth and each other.  But the new energy will transform and transmute the old limiting beliefs, the pain and the suffering.   All we need do is open to this new light, to allow it to bathe our souls, our spirits and lift us up to a different place where we can start anew.

Given the space and time, the insights will arise, the solutions will be clear, new possibilities will emerge.  And we can start with the World Cup game today as millions around the world come together to participate in this event through space and time.  It is not by accident that the game starts at the same time in South Africa  as the Moon will be moving into place over the Sun over Easter Island, for the first time in about 1500 years.

This eclipse is happening in Cancer and is about emotions, feelings, homes, families and marriage.  How are we nurturing ourselves? Are we feeling nourished? How are we feeding our souls?  Cancer is ruled by the Moon, and the Moon rules the tides, connecting us with the oceans, the life-giving waters of the Earth, divine consciousness and the rhythms of creation.

Today’s New Moon Solar Eclipse is the pair to the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse two weeks ago on June 26 and joins the divine feminine with the sacred masculine in loving union.  You might notice the ways this theme is playing out in your life.

We are living at a time of great change in every sphere of human activity; unprecedented leaps in cultural, social and individual accomplishment and changes in our earth and environment.  Science and technology are expanding more quickly than we can keep up with. What is propelling us forward so quickly?

The classic Maya left a road map.  The long count calendar provides an exact time scale for the unfolding of human evolution.  It outlines a cosmic plan of creation for Earth that began with the Big Bang 16.4 billion years ago and ends in 2012.   It also explains the acceleration of change and why we experience time as speeding up. 

The Mayans described evolution on Earth as taking place in nine major cycles with each cycle building on and 20 times shorter than the previous one.  This is demonstrated in their pyramids built with nine levels.  Each cycle has a particular effect on the human mind and history.  The dates of these cycles are now verified by scientific facts and historical research. 

We are nearing the end of the eighth major cycle of evolution.  During this cycle humans have created a complex and sophisticated planet, transforming our physical world and way of living on it.  At the end of this cycle we are awakening to the precarious balance of Earth’s ecology; of our interdependence.   The ninth and final cycle begins in 2011 and will last a period of 260 days.  The calendar glyphs for the last cycle translate as Rainbow or ‘Return of Light’. 

The Mayan prophecies describe the time we are living in as the end of all cycles. This phase heralds in a great awakening of human consciousness, what the sages have described as ‘enlightenment’, or the lifting of all veils of illusion.  As we approach this end of time as we know it, everyone will know what before was realized by only a few.  As quantum physicists tell us, every thing is alive with light and consciousness, and we are each creating our shared reality.  

Scientists are aware of major unexplained shifts in our evolutionary path.  The Mayans describe these shifts as resulting from alternating cosmic energies; a progression of dark and light cycles.  The forces underlying human evolution carried by pulses of light emanating from the center of the Milky Way Galaxy through our local star, the Sun.  Everything is our cosmos is connected.  And all life on earth, our very cellular structure, is responding to the increasing frequencies of light propelling our evolution forward.

Earth and all of us on her, are experiencing the acceleration of light as increasing vibration.  What does not match the new incoming frequencies from the galactic center is being shook loose.  We can see and sense the effects of this agitation around the planet in shifts in the tectonic plates, climate, economic, political and social structures, and in our beliefs and bodies.  These changes are inevitable and actually orchestrated by our higher collective consciousness, though we may only now be fully awakening to this truth.

The existence of a cosmic plan means we can choose to align our lives with the movement of light and our own purpose in the divine plan.  We can begin to live more consciously in each moment; becoming ever more aware and present to what we are creating, in thought and deed.  Is it what we truly desire; it is contributing to a world we want to leave to our children?  What is not feeding our Souls and can we let go?  What aspects of our lives need to come into balance?   The Mayan legacy can prepare and guide us through the time of intense quickening ahead.
