How To Love This World
In the midst of chaos and fear that is swirling about now, take a moment to breathe, to become present to the miracle of your life, your very existence. Remember you are Light, pure consciousness in form, brought into life by the only force there is, LOVE itself.
How do we live in this world more fully as the LOVE we are? As awakening starseeds, this is perhaps the most important question we can ask. And I believe it is the non-human sentient creatures who are here to help us remember the way.
Spring by Mary Oliver
Somewhere a black bear has just risen from sleep and is staring down the mountain. All night in the brisk and shallow restlessness of early spring I think of her, her four black fists flicking the gravel, her tongue like a red fire touching the grass, the cold water. There is only one question: how to love this world. I think of her rising like a black and leafy ledge to sharpen her claws against the silence of the trees. Whatever else my life is with its poems and its music and its glass cities, it is also this dazzling darkness coming down the mountain, breathing and tasting; all day I think of her—her white teeth, her wordlessness, her perfect love.
In the busy confusion of the world it is so easy to forget the beauty and miracle of life that springs eternal within us, coming into its next expression in each Springtime of our lives.
Inspired in part by Mary Oliver, I am asking how I can express my love of this world more fully this Spring. Where is my soul calling me to open more to Life? I invite you to ask those questions for yourself. And listen to the answers that come.
