Revelation and Metamorphis

I trust this finds you well, and enjoying the last days and weeks of the Autumn season with its brilliant colors. In what has been unbelievable year of chaos, uncertainty and confusion in our systems and structures both individually and collectively, this new moon promises a much needed shift and forward motion. There is a deep current of positive energy and powerful healing rippling through the Earth and through our psyches now.

That being said, the energies are intense and I've been sleeping and meditating much more than usual. I have made several attempts to write this email over the past few days to no avail. I sense it may be taking a while for the retrograde planets (Mars and Mercury in particular) to make this shift too. If you are experiencing this same energy, be patient!

As the days shorten and the sun hangs low in the sky, the Scorpio New Moon brings a perfect opportunity to take stock. To notice what in our lives has died, outlived its usefulness, and what needs to be pulled out at the roots, so to speak, to make room for what is waiting and desiring to emerge.

The Scorpio New Moon

This is the last Supermoon of the year, and Jupiter showers us with extra blessings further amplifying the power of this Moon. Scorpio is a water sign and touches at our deep emotional and spiritual life. As the planet of spiritual transformation, Pluto invites us to face and embrace what is in shadow, not clearly seen or acknowledged. When we claim and consciously work with that hidden power, we can fulfill our highest destiny for this life.

The signs of Scorpio represent rebirth and metamorphis at the highest spiritual levels. New life comes from the shedding of the old skin, like the Scorpion, and rising from the ashes like the Phoenix.

New Moons are all about what is hiding in the dark, so we can plant the seeds of new potentials. This moon is perhaps the most powerful and intense of all New Moons for this inner work. So you can be certain that your efforts in this regard will be amply rewarded in the coming cycle.

Take a Deep Dive into the Underworld

Scorpio is ruled by the planet Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld. In the shamanic cosmology, the Underworld is the place of chaotic potential, the repository of unlived things, as the poet Rilke writes. It represents our unconscious, where all of our secret, suppressed and denied aspects of psyche are kept, in the deep womb of Mother Earth, until we are ready to face and embrace them, to put them to best use.

At this time in the yearly cycle, Pluto invites us to unearth our deepest desires and motives. To take inventory and do a thorough revamp of our inner life. To clarify and recommit to our heart's desires and passions. We are also being reminded to balance our desires with our responsibilities to self and others. The New Earth will only support what serves the whole of life. Love and justice for all are the key notes of the new song of creation that we are each invited to sing now.

So it's up to you to decide what structures in your life (homes, relationships, work) and in your inner being (beliefs, emotional patterns, behaviors) are worth keeping, and what needs to be cut away so it can be recycled and brought into higher service.

Composting is the work of the deep Feminine, aka. our instinctual knowing, Mother Nature, who in her wisdom knows the viability of all potentials. You can ask, is this (job, relationship, project, idea, way of being or doing) sustainable? Is it worth the energy it will require to bring to fruition? Or is it best to let it go, let it die, in order to make room for something new and better?

May this Scorpio New Moon take you safely into the deep dark of your own soul and reveal to you untold treasures. May you open to the mystery and power of your Inner Self that waits to be remembered; your true nature that is as deep as the ocean and as wide as the sky, and always free. Remember you are always dreaming, even when awake. Dream big, beautiful dreams for all the Creation, and know that your deepest hearts desires will be served, naturally, and perfectly, by the loving intelligence that dreamed you into being and sustains your life.
